  2. City of Lansing Memorial Day Ceremony

    May 25, 2019, 12:00 PM - 3:00 PM @ Evergreen Cemetery / Little Arlington Section

    Mayor Andy School will offer remarks and lay a wreath in remembrance at the ceremony. Michael C.H. McDaniel, Brigadier General (ret.) will speak at the ceremony. The ceremony will conclude with a solo performance of Amazing Grace.

  3. Trash Tag Challenge

    May 30, 2019, 1:00 PM - 6:00 PM @ All filled City trash bags should go curbside on your designated trash pick up day. For City bag weight limits and what to avoid putting in City bags, please visit:

    Lansing is joining the global trash tag challenge. During the month of May the Department of Neighborhoods & Citizen Engagement will have FREE City blue trash bags available (one roll per person). As part of our Live Green Lansing Initiative, we are also using up an old stockpile of retro green city trash bags. Bags can be picked up at 200 N. Foster Ave. Rm. 205 on Thursdays in May from 1pm-6pm. Each person will also receive a SERVELansing t-shirt while supplies last. 1. Find litter in your neighborhood (vacant lots, curb & gutter, drains, etc.) 2. Take a "before" photo of the scene 3. Clean up and bag the trash in the green or blue bags 4. Then, highlight the change in an "after" picture. Post your photos online and tag the City on social media with #TrashTagChallenge #ServeLansing
