Last Chance!  May Trash Tag Challenge

Have you seen the #TrashTag Challenge and wanted to know how YOU can get involved?!

Over 100 Neighbors have joined in and got together to cleanup their Lansing neighborhood.

This Thursday May 30th is the last daty to stop by the Department of Neighborhoods & Citizen Engagement to pick up FREE City blue trash bags available (one roll per person). As part of our Live Green Lansing Initiative, we are also using up an old stockpile of retro green city trash bags.

Bags can be picked up at 200 N. Foster Ave. Rm. 205 on Thursday May 30th from 1pm-6pm. Each person will also receive a SERVELansing t-shirt while supplies last.

1. Find litter in your neighborhood (vacant lots, curb & gutter, drains, etc.)
2. Take a "before" photo of the scene
3. Clean up and bag the trash in the green or blue bags
4. Then, highlight the change in an "after" picture.

Post your photos online and tag the City on social media with #TrashTagChallenge #ServeLansing

All filled City trash bags should go curbside on your designated trash pick up day.

Neighborhoods in Bloom 2019

Thank you to everyone making Lansing bloom this summer.  Over 10,000 flowers were distributed throughout the city for planting in public right of ways and along corridors.

Thank you to all the neighbors who participated.  A big thank you to our volunteer truck loaders and to our distribution locations the Lansing School District Dr Eva L Evans Welcome Center and the Allen Neighborhood Center for your generous contribution of space and volunteers.
