Flooded home trash pick up in select neighborhoods

The City of Lansing is able to provide expanded garbage service in select Lansing neighborhoods that were both:
1) Hard hit by flooding
2) Within federally designated Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) eligible areas.

Neighbors that will receive this service tomorrow have been notified through a door to door flyering effort and at the three neighborhood meetings held in impacted areas this week.  Please note, these routes are not widely publicized to prevent dumping into these areas.

The volunteer effort above is to assist these neighborhoods in loading the trash from the curb to the trucks.

Please consider making a financial donation to the Red Cross or make donations of household goods and furniture to any Goodwill location.  Red Cross will be distributing Goodwill vouchers to our neighbors impacted by the flood.  The Red Cross has also been distributing food and cleaning supplies in flooded neighborhoods.
