Review the Southwest Lansing Action Plan

The Housing and Neighborhood Resource Summit will include an update on progress made in the implementation of the Southwest Lansing Action Plan.  Find the full plan HERE

Winter is on the way!

Winter is coming and snow is on the way.  Three Lansing neighborhoods have applied to be part of this year's pilot project to build a volunteer corps of neighbors helping neighbors with snow shoveling and sidewalk clearing this winter.  Coachlight Commons, Westside Neighborhood Association, and PLACE Neighborhood have stepped up to the challenge and will be designing and testing this #ServeLansing program.  The pilot will build upon existing volunteer snow removal programs.  Look for more information in the coming months about their efforts, including ideas for bringing the program to your neighbors.

Winter Sidewalks

Check out this cool City Lab article about Porchfest events.  Lansing neighborhoods have been organizing and growing at least two of these --  Moores Park Porchfest and the Eastside Stoopfest Be sure to check them out next year or organize your own neighborhood event -- a handy checklist can be found HERE

These and other types of events are great projects for your Mayor's Neighborhood Advisory Board application.  Grant preview day is 6pm 12/14 at Foster Community Center and applications are due 1/12.  Find all the info HERE
