City of Lansing 2019 Tax Season

The City of Lansing’s Office of Treasury announces that 2019 tax returns will be accepted starting on Friday, January 31, 2020.   

Hard copies of the L-1040 (Individual taxpayer) forms are currently available in the lobby of City Hall across from the City Treasury & Income Tax Department. Forms are also available for pick up at Capital District Libraries, DeWitt District Library and Grand Ledge Area District Library.  

Income qualified taxpayers may receive free tax preparation help from the IRS trained volunteer income tax assistance (VITA) program.   

To locate a free tax site near you, dial 2-1-1. City of Lansing tax returns and payments are due on April 30, 2020.
