Loading Zones

Two-way street conversion will impact the amount of space available for curbside uses, including loading zones, on some streets. Allowing loading and unloading to occur in the center turn lane, in the middle of blockers where the lane is not needed, provides an efficient use of the roadway and can preserve on-street parking spaces (see below). The City will plan for a mix of curbside and center lane loading zones based on unique conditions on each block of the conversion streets.
