Your safety is our top concern. The City of Lansing is now using Lansing Alert, powered by Everbridge, to notify you know about issues that affect your safety in a timely manner.
How Does It Work?
The City of Lansing issues a message about a potential safety hazard or concern through text, call, mobile app and/or email based on your preference when signing up. If you don't confirm receipt of the message, the system will try to reach your second contact path and continues trying to reach you until you confirm receipt. The success of this service relies on you. Having your latest contact information is the only way to ensure that we can contact you in an emergency.
When will it be used?
This system will be used to notify you about threats to health and safety as well as informational notifications that affect your set locations, such as home and/or work. City administrators will send notifications regarding emergencies, traffic alerts, road closures and snow removal information.
What about Nixle? Or CodeRED?
These systems have been replaced by this one system. It will distribute both emergency and community messages, without the need for two different accounts on two different platforms.
Lansing Respects Your Privacy
Lansing will never share or distribute your personal information, unless required to do so by law. Additionally, Lansing will never use your information for any purpose other than to send emergency notifications or information pertaining to the City.
