Working in partnership with the City of Lansing, the Greater Lansing Homeless Resolution Network is responsible for the development and implementation of a Continuum of Care that assists homeless families and individuals to successfully make the transition from homelessness to independent living. The network represents service delivery providers and public/private sector representatives in greater Lansing that assist persons in need to acquire shelter, food, clothing, mental health and substance abuse treatment, medical assistance, case management and financial assistance.
The GLHRN participates in the Michigan Statewide Homeless Management Information System (HMIS) that is administered for the greater Lansing region by City of Lansing's Human Relations and Community Services Department. Human services agencies participating in HMIS share confidential electronic case records that follow homeless clients wherever they receive services in the greater Lansing community. This affords better coordination of case management efforts and the ability to generate aggregate data profiles that inform the development of service delivery approaches benefiting homeless persons in the Lansing/Ingham County region.
The GLHRN, working in conjunction with City of Lansing, Ingham County, the Michigan State Housing Development Authority and other various other stakeholders, is in the process of implementing a Ten Year Plan to end homelessness.
