Velma Kyser joins the Financial Empowerment Center after 33 years in the banking industry, where she was a tireless advocate for "banking the unbanked". Velma is well-known for her community service efforts. She and her husband have volunteered for the City's Mobile Food Pantry for the last seven years, and Velma is a member of the Allen Neighborhood Center board of directors and is the Vice President of the Entrepreneur Institute of Mid-Michigan.
Sonia Diallo joins the Center after working with the City of Lansing on the Homeless Management Information System and with experience providing counseling through local nonprofits. English is Sonia's seventh language, and she conducts counseling sessions in French and German! Tammy Beckwith joins the center after serving as an Outreach Specialist for FEC. She was a liaison for LHC and FEC bringing the opportunities of FEC to the four LHC sites. You can make an appointment to see Tammy at Cristo Rey Community Center Monday-Friday by calling 517-483-4550.
Jessica Dexter joins the Center after serving as a Family Support Assistant at Capital Area Community Services .
